Tiny Town: a miniature world of role play and imagination. Everyday 8am-5pm

Role play provides many opportunities for children to use their imagination and explore the miniature world of Tiny Town: a supermarket, cafe, police station, builder's yard, vet and nursery - and costumes to fuel their imagination.

Tiny Town is a great opportunity for children to develop many early learning goals through imaginative play and having fun.

• Practice speaking and listening skills

• Develop their attention

• Take on different roles and explore each area

• Dress up to add another dimension and give depth to the role

​

Honeypot Nursery and Vet Pro, children can:

• learn to respond appropriately to different situations

• show an awareness of others’ needs

• discuss hygiene and self-care, especially in the nursery where they can look at dressing and toilet needs.

​

Adams’ Yard, children can:

• develop co-ordination and movement building with the blocks and using tools

• practice mathematics skills e.g. counting, discussing size, comparing, ordering, finding patterns and looking at shape

​

Naledi's Deli and the Supermarket, children can:

• develop speech, language and memory skills by taking orders, remembering lists, identifying objects

• practice routines such as washing hands, preparing food, washing up or by finding the items on a list, ringing them up on the till and putting them into bags.

​

The Police Station is pure imaginative fun and also a great way to discuss the rules of our society. Measure your child on the height chart, make and receive phone calls and put someone in jail!

Don’t miss the post boxes either. Colour co-ordinated envelopes    for each shop can be delivered to the correct post box and this is an opportunity for looking at addresses.
